On April 30, 2021, Idaho Power Company (“Company”) applied for Commission
acknowledgment that its December 31, 2025, exit date from the North Valmy Power Plant
(“Valmy”) Unit 2 is appropriate based on currently available information.
On May 21, 2021, the Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of
Intervention Deadline, setting a June 11, 2021 deadline for persons to petition for intervenor status.
Order No. 35051. The order directed that “after the Notice of Parties is issued, Commission Staff
shall confer with the parties regarding a procedural schedule for this matter.” Id. at 3. Boise City,
the Industrial Customers of Idaho Power, the Idaho Conservation League, and Micron Technology,
Inc. petitioned to intervene, and the Commission granted their petitions. Order Nos. 35061 and
35083. The Notice of Parties issued on June 25, 2021.
The Commission now sets comment deadlines and provides notice of a telephonic
public workshop and a telephonic customer hearing.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission has determined that the public
interest may not require a formal hearing in this matter, and that it will proceed under Modified
Procedure pursuant to Rules 201 through 204 of the Commission’s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA
31.01.01.201 through .204. The Commission notes that Modified Procedure and written comments
have proven to be an effective means for obtaining public input and participation.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that persons desiring to state a position on this
Application may file a written comment explaining why the person supports or opposes the
Application. Persons who would like a hearing must specifically request a hearing in their written
comments. Persons shall have until August 17, 2021, to file written comments. Comments
must be filed through the Commission website or by e-mail unless computer access is unavailable.

August 31, 2021.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that if no written comments or protests are received
within the time limit set, the Commission will consider this matter on its merits and enter its order
without a formal hearing. If written comments are received within the time limit set, the
Commission will consider them and, in its discretion, may set the same for formal hearing.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that Staff will hold a telephonic, public,
informational workshop for customers taking water service from the Company on
WEDNESDAY, JULY 28, 2021, AT 7:00 PM (MDT). The purpose of the workshop is to
provide customers with an overview of the Application. At the workshop, customers may ask
Staff about the Application and how customers may further participate in the proceeding.
Company representatives will also be available. To participate online, please visit
idahogov.webex.com and enter 177 312 9655. At the next window, enter your name, e-mail
address and the password JulyWorkshop. To participate by telephone, please call 1-415-655-
0001 and enter the passcode 177 312 9655 when prompted.
NOTICE OF CUSTOMER HEARING
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission will conduct a telephonic
customer hearing in this matter on TUESDAY, AUGUST 24, 2021, AT 7:00 PM (MDT). The
purpose of the public hearing is to take testimony from members of the public and customers of
the Company. To participate, please call 1-415-655-0001 and enter the passcode 177 246 6391
when prompted. Those planning on testifying are encouraged to join the hearing at 6:30 PM
(MDT).
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that any person needing special accommodations
to participate in the hearings and workshop noticed in this Order should contact the Commission
for assistance. The request for assistance must be received at least five (5) working days before

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all proceedings in this matter will be conducted
pursuant to the Commission’s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.000, et seq.
O R D E R
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company’s Application be processed by Modified
Procedure, Rule 201-204 (IDAPA 31.01.01.201-.204). Persons interested in submitting written
comments must do so by August 17, 2021. The Company must file any reply comments by August
31, 2021.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Commission Staff hold a telephonic, public,
informational, customer workshop on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 7:00 PM (MDT).
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Commission will hold a telephonic customer
hearing at which customers and interested members of the public may testify on Tuesday, August
24, 2021, at 7:00 PM (MDT).
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that parties should continue to comply with Order No.
35058, issued June 3, 2021. All pleadings should be filed with the Commission electronically and
shall be deemed timely filed when received by the Commission Secretary. See Rule 14.02. Service
between parties should also be accomplished electronically. Voluminous discovery-related
documents may be filed and served on CD-ROM or a USB flash drive.
