The Commission regulates Idaho's investor-owned utilities, ensuring adequate service and reasonable rates. The Commission is made up of three commissioners appointed by the Governor. The Commission makes the decisions in each case. Commission Staff is made up of Auditors, Consumer Advocates, Engineers & Technical Analysts. Commission Staff is a party in all filed cases and provides comments and recommendations to the Commissioners. IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION PARTICIPATION APPLICATION COMPANY REQUEST: The Commission issue an order acknowledging that, based on information known at this time, the appropriate exit date from Valmy Unit 2 is December 31, 2025. The Commission issue an order no later than September 29, 2021, to allow Idaho Power adequate time to notify NV Energy (the plant operator) should the Commission direct Idaho Power to pursue an earlier exit date of Valmy Unit 2.
