Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Climate change is making our world hotter. Between the wildfires and drought, dying coral reefs and hurricanes we
need to stop burning fossil fuels, now. Yes, this has become an urgent matter. I have children, they will have a
very difficult time on this planet if we don't avert the change that is on the horizon. It makes me sad that they don't
want children because they fear for the future. It doesn't have to be that way. Decisions are in your hands to help us
stop burning fossil fuels. Down the road is too late.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
As Idaho grows the demand for energy increases. I believe the public should not be penalized for investing in
alternative energy such as solar. I believe that we should be educating our youth and the public about ways to save
and conserve energy everyday.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Now that America has an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT (hopefully more enlightened) President and administration, it's
high time that Idaho's power companies (ie, Idaho Power) get on board with the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY
of States and take Alternative Energy (ie, green power like solar and wind) SERIOUSLY!
The German Energy Model is a great place to start, if needing to see just how profitable Green Energy can be.
Move over coal, oil and even methane, as solar / wind / fuel cells are the future and OF COURSE let's take
advantage of our abundant methane reserves during this bridging process. However, let's use methane carefully,
along with strict emissions controls, lest we reverse our modest gains addressing Climate Change.
Yes, I'm a "Greenie" but I once was a professional Exploration Geophysicist with Conoco Oil and saw the light back
then, as to the fact that Big Oil and Big Coal are too dirty to be America's only "go to" energy source.

Brett Smith

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
As a net metering solar home I am doing everything possible to achieve a yearly net zero footprint but I need Idaho
Power?s help. As a shareholder, I want my investments to stay ahead of the inevitable curve towards clean
sustainable energy. I want Idaho Power
To allow all new net metering customers to have the old rate structure that was grandfathered in because we are all
in this together. Diversifying the energy production would make the production more stable and provide incentives
for IDA Corp to be clean and more profitable.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Hello Idaho PUC,
I'm writing in support of reaching a goal for 100% Clean Energy for all of us in Idaho. I am willing to pay more in
order to have a sustainable energy source. Let's not wait until it's too late. Help us to make change towards clean
energy as soon as possible.
There are so many that are interested in owning solar panels. Help make that a viable option in our state.
I support Idaho Power's move toward 100% Clean Energy in its latest Integrated Resource Plan. I hope the PUC
will urge Idaho Power to 1) Speed up its plan to achieve 100% clean energy, including earlier exits from its coal
plants and gas plants; 2) Invest in local clean energy projects (NOT new gas plants) that benefit Idaho?s economy;
and 3) Give customers and communities a fair chance to own their own solar energy systems.
Sincerely,

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Idaho could be a leader in solar energy if Idaho Power would only join the effort to be progressive and support solar
development. I have wanted to purchase solar panels for decades, but I will never make back my investment
because of your prohibitive policies on net metering. So the planet continues to suffer with your purchase of out of
state coal and your salmon-killing dams. It needs to change! Be a leader instead of a killer of our natural resources.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
We can do better. Solar and other renewable, non-fossil energy sources are now affordable and widely available.
And those industries keep improving. We should have solar on every roof, within every window, on every car roof
too. The more local, distributed energy we have, the better. This way we won?t have to build huge expensive, ugly
power lines across the country. We?d be less vulnerable to terrorist attacks that could wipe out our power grid. I
really worry about cyber attacks on our power and technology sources. Let?s move towards distributed, local power
supplies!

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
100 % Clean Energy is tremendously important to me because I have seen evidence of the climate crisis here in
Idaho as well as in Washington State, California and the nation. It has been frustrating to see little concern
however, in state governments and power companies, as if they are blind to what the youth all over the world see
and have been campaigning about. So, I am very proud of Idaho Power and the Idaho PUC for making plans for
100% clean energy. It is desperately important, however to speed up plans. Science tells us that 2030 and 2045 are
too long to wait for changes you plan to make. I can't take you seriously about these plans if you are still going to
build NEW gas plants between now and when you will achieve 100 % clean energy. Please, instead, invest in local
clean energy projects and give customers and communities a fair chance to own their own solar energy systems.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Change is always hard. But if the human race does not adapt and put the environment first, we as a species will
struggle. I've always been perplexed by the resistance to keep "generations" in the forefront of all political
decisions. The time has passed to only think about the bottom line and the near future. Mistakes will be made but
we must keep pressing forward to a more sustainable clean energy future. There really is no time to waste. As a

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
We have such a severe issue closing fast on us with Global Climate Change that we need to do everything we can to
push back on fossil fuel utilization and drastically lower greenhouse gas emissions. We need to drive toward 100%
clean energy in all our production so that we can preserve the planet and environment for future generations. I am so
very upset and concerned that we're not acting fast enough to avert catastrophic consequences. We really need
Idaho Power and the PUC to demand better and push faster to 100% clean energy before it's too late. Every utility in
the US and country in the world needs to take responsibility to do their part in this massive problem.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
As an Idaho Power customer, I would like Idaho Power to make every possible investment in clean, renewable
energy. The time is now to move into the future when it comes to producing and distributing energy.
I support Idaho Power's move toward 100% Clean Energy in its latest Integrated Resource Plan. I hope the PUC
will urge Idaho Power to 1) Speed up its plan to achieve 100% clean energy, including earlier exits from its coal
plants and gas plants; 2) Invest in local clean energy projects (NOT new gas plants) that benefit Idaho?s economy;
and 3) Give customers and communities a fair chance to own their own solar energy systems.
Sincerely,

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Clean Energy development in Idaho rather than a B2H line to Oregon would mean a more secure supply of energy at
secure rates, cheaper rates of power for ratepayers, rural economic development throughout the state, and use of our
public lands to stabilize our economy.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
We have already seen the consequences of climate change here in our communities. Winter snowpacks are growing
thinner, droughts are more prevalent, huge parts of the West were caught on fire, etc. All these threats endanger our
livelihoods and lifestyles here in Idaho. Our economy and our recreational activities will be hugely impacted by less
snow. Farmers, water users, and fisheries are struggling with this year?s drought. Air quality was reduced by smoke
from the wildfires. The effects of climate change will have devastating consequences for our community. Now we
have the opportunity to act together to tackle this problem. In Blaine County, many of the cities and the county
already have committed to 100% clean electricity by 2035. With the help of Idaho Power, we can speed up our
commitments and work together with the local goverments on the implementation of an energy plan that helps
tackle climate change and its dangers.

I urge this commission to rapidly pursue a multitude of clean energy sources and end our reliance of fossil fuels. I
want to make sure that the commission makes clean energy accessible to all of the people of Idaho and provide
incentives to shift towards clean energy. The plan needs to be swift, decisive and fair. Any current energy sources
that are not clean, need to be taxed as a disincentive for their continues use and any subsidies for nonclean energy
must be ended, not just fazed out. The Energy sector must adjust to the realities we face, the sooner they adjust, the
easier it will be to become economically sustainable.

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
I am a homeowner in Boise and participate in the residential Idaho Power Green Power Program which I hope
contributes to helping Idaho Power reach it's 100% Clean Energy Goal for 2045. I support Idaho Power's efforts to
reach this goal more quickly if possible by equitably supporting solar options for individual home owners,
businesses and farmers. I also support any efficient actions that Idaho Power can take in their Energy Plan to reach
their 100% Clean Energy Goal by 2045 or sooner. This will assist Boise, Meridian and Ada County reach their
goals of 2035 and 2045 respectively. Thank You!

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
I am working with the Portneuf Resource Council in Pocatello to have the city work toward using 100% clean,

I love Idaho and all the outdoor activities Idaho has to offer-skiing, hunting, fishing, and more. I also have a small

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
As a lifelong energy Guru, I have some advice. Look at the local grid segments as both an energy generation
resource, and as a storage resource, because they are. The near future is both fixed and mobile storage, and better,
lower cost rooftop and local solar gardens etc. We will need 10-20 X the number of EV charging points, and
dramatically more total MW to run them. That means local generation and storage are both valuable to the utility.
A better partnership between utility, consumers, producers and their storage is required to support his increasing
demand and growth. The centralized and big grid generation and distribution model is being replaced with a much
more diverse and resilient connected microgrid model. This is a good thing, and will make us all stronger. Please
embrace, and be the change. Sincerely, Brad Smith 2983 Tattenham Ave, Boise, ID 83713

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
Supporting Idaho Power's move toward 100% Clean Energy is important to me because the earth is warming, which
is having serious consequences for humans and wildlife, large and small, including insects. I believe there are and
will be many job opportunities in the clean energy field. As in other fields where there have been changes, the job
market has adapted. There is no time to waste in cleaning up our environment and Idaho Power can lead the way.
Please don't spend customers' money to build gas plants only to turn around and shut them down years later. I
believe more customers would be willing to install solar panels if they were more affordable. Please help Idaho
achieve 100% Clean Energy sooner rather than later.

others when they install renewable solar or wind energy systems to help get us all off of fossil fuels. We have to
work together to tackle climate change and insure our future generations a livable future.
I support Idaho Power's move toward 100% Clean Energy in its latest Integrated Resource Plan. I hope the PUC
will urge Idaho Power to 1) Speed up its plan to achieve 100% clean energy, including earlier exits from its coal
plants and gas plants; 2) Invest in local clean energy projects (NOT new gas plants) that benefit Idaho?s economy;
and 3) Give customers and communities a fair chance to own their own solar energy systems.
Sincerely,

Dear R. Idaho PUC,
We purchased solar panels three years ago. One, we expect to save money in the long run. Two, we know we cannot
continue burning fossil fuels for heat and electricity. The climate is clearly warming and we will need to change how
we live to sustain life through the coming century. Fossil fuel companies have a long history of getting government
subsidies, which may have made sense in earlier years, but now it is time to stop the burning. It is time to do
whatever we can to reduce the pollutants that are poisoning our atmosphere. Keeping green technologies as cost
effective as possible will go a long way toward building a better future for Idaho, the country and the world.
