Idaho PUC, As an Idaho Power customer, I would like to comment on your 20-Year Plan I am encouraged that you committed to 100% Clean Energy Goal for 2045. There are a number of items that should be included in your long range plan to work toward this goal that go beyond conservation of energy practices. First, you must set an earlier timeline that will speed up your plan to exit from utilizing coal plants and gas plants. Second, you must start investing in local clean clean energy projects that will stimulate Idaho?s economy. This may include developing large solar fields and developing a network of electric charging stations throughout Idaho. And last, it is imperative that you provide customers and communities a fair chance to build their own solar energy systems. This includes developing a fair system for Idaho Power's customer to sell generated power and a grid-use tax to ensure that these customers contribute to electrical network costs. Clean energy matters to me! I support Idaho Power's move toward 100% Clean Energy in its latest Integrated Resource Plan. I hope the PUC will urge Idaho Power to 1) Speed up its plan to achieve 100% clean energy, including earlier exits from its coal plants and gas plants; 2) Invest in local clean energy projects (NOT new gas plants) that benefit Idaho?s economy; and 3) Give customers and communities a fair chance to own their own solar energy systems.
