HomeMy WebLinkAbout20190605notice_of_modified_procedure_order_no_34353.pdfOffice of the Secretary Service Date June 5,2019 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION )CASE NO.IPC-E-19-14 OF IDAHO POWER FOR APPROVAL OF A ) POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH )JACKPOT HOLDINGS,LLC,FOR THE )NOTICE OF MODIFIED SALE AND PURCHASE OF UP TO 220 )PROCEDURE MEGAWATTS OF RENEWABLE SOLAR ) GENERATION ) )ORDER NO.34353 On April 4,2019,Idaho Power Company ("Idaho Power"or "Company")filed an Application seeking approval of a Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA")with Jackpot Holdings LLC,("Jackpot Solar")for energy generated by the Jackpot Solar Facility ("Facility").Under the proposed PPA,Idaho Power would purchase 120 megawatts ("MW")of energy with an option to purchase an additional 100 MW of energy from the adjacent Franklin Solar Facility ("Option Facility").The Facility and Option Facility are between Twin Falls and the Nevada border. On April 25,2019,the Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of Intervention Deadline.Order No.34321.The intervention deadlinewas May 16,2019.No parties intervened. Followingthe intervention deadline,the Commission issued a Notice of Parties. Commission Staff and the Company conferred about procedure and scheduling for this case and reached agreement on those matters.Now,the Commission issues this Notice of Modified Procedure establishing comment and reply comment deadlines,as agreed to by the parties. NOTICE OF MODIFIED PROCEDURE YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission has determined that the public interest may not require a formal hearing in this matter,and that it will proceed under Modified Procedure pursuant to Rules 201 through 204 of the Commission's Rules of Procedure,IDAPA 31.01.01.201 through.204.The Commission notes that Modified Procedure and written comments have proven to be an effective means for obtaining public inputand participation. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that any person desiring to state a position on this Application may file a written comment in supportor opposition with the Commission by no later than July 23,2019.The comment must contain a statement of reasons supporting the comment.Persons desiring a hearing must specifically request a hearing in their written comments.
