The PUC staff looked at the details and found no evidence to support Idaho Powers request to segregate solar customers.I agree. Because I cant choose my utility,I rely on the PUC to ensure fair programs.Again, please maintain the current net metering program. Moscow ID,83843 Name of Utility Company:Idaho Power Comment:The Idaho Public Utilities Commission should not charge rooftop solar customers different rates. First of all Idaho Power has not completed a cost-benefit analysis of rooftop solar and therefore cannot make informed judgements about cost shifting.Rooftop solar is increasing in Idaho. This is providing clean power and also jobs to Idaho cominunities which is good for Idaho. Idaho's solar industry and customers will be impacted negatively by Idaho Power's new rate. Please consider this sincerely in your future actions!! This proposal could result in increased rates for customers who are actually generating their own power by using a non- polluting, renewable energy resource, something that we should all strive for!Idahoansshould have a right to offset their own electricity usage with on-site renewable energy, and they should actually be rewarded for this effort!Rooftop solar provides significant value to all Idaho residents and businesses, helping create hundreds of jobs and leveraging millions in private investments to diversify Idaho's energy mix.It also reduces Idaho's reliance on out-of-state fossil fuel energy and improves our air quality. The only state to create a separate rate class for solar customers is Kansas, and I certainly do not want Idaho to become another Kansas! The proposal to create a new rate class is only the first step in attacking the financial benefits of rooftop solar, making it less likely that consumers will choose to increase their energy independence and, basically, their abilityto do what they wish on their rooftops.I am totally opposed to this proposal.
