HomeMy WebLinkAbout20170926notice_of_modified_procedure_order_no_33889.pdfOffice of the Secretary Service Date September 26,2017 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF IDAHO POWER )CASE NO.IPC.E4741 COMPANY’S 2017 INTEGRATED ) RESOURCE PLAN )NOTICE OF )MODIFIED PROCEDURE ) )NOTICE OF )COMMENT DEADLINE ) _____________________________ )ORDER NO.33889 On June 30,2017,Idaho Power Company (“Idaho Power”or “Company”)filed its 2017 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)with the Commission.The IRP is the Company’s status report explaining how the Company plans to adequately and reliably serve customers over the next 20 years.The Commission requires the Company to file an IRP every two years,and to allow the public to participate and comment as the IRP is being developed.With this filing,the Commission is asked to acknowledge that the Company has filed its 2017 IRP. On July 31,2017,the Commission issued a Notice of Filing and Notice of intervention Deadline that summarized the IRP and IRP process and set August 21,2017,for interested persons to intervene as parties in the case.See Order No.33827.The following parties timely intervened:(1)Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association,Inc.;(2)the Idaho Hydroelectric Power Producers Trust (“Idahydro”);(3)Industrial Cutomers of Idaho Power;(4) Micron Technology,Inc.;(5)Sierra Club;and (6)STOP B2H.1 After informally conferring with the Company and intervening parties,Staff advised the Commission that the parties recommended the Commission process the Application by Modified Procedure and allow 60 days for written comments and 14 days for Company reply comments.With this Order the Commission authorizes the use of Modified Procedure and establishes these deadlines. Renewable Energy Coalition submitted a Petition for Leave to Intervene Out of Time on September 18,2017, which Petition is pending before the Commission. NOTICE OF MODIFIED PROCEDURE NOTICE OF COMMENT DEADLINE ORDER NO.33889 NOTICE OF MODIFIED PROCEDURE YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission has reviewed the Companys IRP filing,preliminarily determined the public interest may not require a formal hearing in this matter,and will proceed under Modified Procedure pursuant to Rules 201 through 204 of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission’s Rules of Procedure,IDAPA 31.01.01.201 through .204. The Commission notes that Modified Procedure and written comments have proven to be an effective means for obtaining public input and participation.
