The Fixed Cost Adjustment updotes prices bosed on chonges in energy use per customer during the previous year. BOISE, ldaho, March L5,20L7 -- Today ldaho Power filed its annual Fixed Cost Adjustment (FCA) with the ldaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC). This year's FCA filing requests an increase of about Sg.gO million for Residentialand SmallGeneralService customers. lf the proposa! is approved as filed, the price change for an average ldaho Power residential customer in ldaho uslng 1,000 kilowatt-hours of energy per month would be an increase of about Sf .Sf per month beginningJune 1, 2OL7. FCA Price Change by Class: Percentage Change from Current Billed Rates Small General Residential Service Overall Change* Fixed Cost Adjustment (FCAI t.29%L.33o/o 7.29o/o *The overall percentage change for Residential and Small Genera! Service customers The FCA is a true-up mechanism that separates energy sales from revenue to eliminate financial disincentives for ldaho Power to invest in demand-side management. The FCA annually adjusts prices up or down based on changes in energy use per customer during the previous year. Because ldaho Power encourages the wise use of electricity through our energy efficiency programs and efforts, energy use per customer may decline. But even if customer energy use goes down, we still need to recover our fixed costs. Fixed costs include those associated with long lasting infrastructure-things like generation plants, power lines, substations and other equipment-as well as certain administrative costs. The FCA allows ldaho Power to recover a Commission-authorized level of fixed costs per customer. lf, because of reduced energy use per customer during the prior year, we collect less than the authorized fixed-cost amount, we're allowed to collect the difference through a P0. 8r:x 70 (83707) 1221 W. ldaho St. Boise, lD 83702 more-more-more ldaho Power Files Annual Fixed Cost Adjustment Page 2 of 2 surcharge. lf we collect more than the authorized amount, we'!l refund the difference to customers through a credit. Opportunities for Public Review ldaho Power's filing is a proposal that is subject to public review and approval by the IPUC. Copies of the application are available to the public at the IPUC offices 1472 W. Washington St., Boise, ldaho, 837O2l,ldaho Power offices or on ldaho Power's website, idahopower.com or the IPUC website,puc.idaho.gov.
