SUBJECT:SIMWOOD,INC.'S APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO PROVIDE LOCAL AND LONG-
DISTANCE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICE IN IDAHO;CASE NO.
SIM-T-19-01.
On November 25,2019,Simwood,Inc.(Simwood)applied for a Certificate of Public
Convenience and Necessity to provide local and long-distance telecommunications services in
Idaho.
THE APPLICATION
Simwood is a Wyoming corporation authorized to do business in Idaho as a foreign
corporation.Application at 2.It plans to provide facilities-based and resold local exchange and
long-distance telecommunications services to business customers.Id.at 4.Simwood plans to
obtain interconnection agreements with incumbent local exchange companies,or seek
"commercial agreements with other carriers on an as-needed basis."Id.at 6.Simwood seeks
authorization to offer service throughout Idaho,and would compete with any or all of Idaho's
incumbent local exchange carriers.Id.at 3.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the use of Modified Procedure with a 21-day comment deadline and
7-day reply deadline.
