Comment: lt is imperative that the existing WOOD RIVER to KETCHUM 138kv line be re-built as soon as possible. The line
has served us well during its 55 year life.
Theexistingroutehasproventominimizethedangersoffire,snowslides,orvehiculardamage. Thelineliesinexisting
right-ofwaywhichprecededresidentialdevelopmentinthearea. Anupgradetosteelpoles,concretefoundations,and
perhaps longer spans should require minimum design time. Statistically, the existence of a new line would be an
improvement over existing conditions.
The debate over underground lines,solar sources, battery storage, diesel or gas generators,etc can be reviewed as these
infant resources mature.
