IPC-E-16-24 NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP On October 21, 2016, Idaho Power Company filed an Application requesting Commission authorization to "(1) accelerate the depreciation schedule for the North Valmy power plant ("Valmy") to allow the plant to be fully depreciated by December 31, 2025; (2) establish a balancing account to track the incremental costs and benefits associated with the accelerated Valmy end-of-life date, and (3) adjust customer rates to recover the associated incremental annual levelized revenue requirement of $28.50 million with an effective date of June 1, 2017." Application at 1. The result of this Application is an overall increase of2.51%. Errata to Application. The Commission issued an Order providing notice of the Application, setting a deadline for intervention, and directing the parties to confer about a schedule for the case. Order No. 33650. Following the deadline for intervention, Commission Staff conferred with the intervening parties and proposed a schedule to the Commission. The Commission then issued an Order providing Notice of Modified Procedure, adopting a schedule, and setting a deadline for comments from parties or the public of April 20, 2017. Order No. 33690. The Commission also indicated that Commission Staff would hold a public workshop regarding the case. Id. NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission Staff will conduct a telephonic and in-person public workshop for customers of Idaho Power Company on TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 2017 AT 7:00 P.M. (MDT) IN THE COMMISSION HEARING ROOM AT 472 WEST WASHINGTON STREET, BOISE, IDAHO or by telephone by dialing toll-free 1-800-920-7487 and, when prompted, entering the passcode 76373262#. The workshop information and presentation materials will be posted on the Commission's web site by no later than March 16, 2017. Go to www.puc.idaho.gov, under "Hot Items" (on the right­ hand side of the page), click on "Valmy Depreciation workshop slides." The telephonic NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP 1 workshop and on-line materials are designed to facilitate a more convenient and inclusive public participation process for customers across Idaho Power's service territory. However, persons desiring to attend an in-person workshop in another location can request one for the Commission's consideration. At the workshop, the Commission Staff will summarize the Company's Application and how the Commission generally evaluates and decides a case. Staff will not take any position on the merits of the Application, because Staff will still be evaluating it when the workshop occurs. After the workshop, the Commission Staff will file written comments or testimony to address the merits of the case. Staff's remarks will take into consideration any concerns that may have been raised at the workshop. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all workshops and hearings in this matter will be held in facilities meeting the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Persons needing the help of a sign language interpreter or other assistance in order to participate in or to understand testimony and argument at a workshop or public hearing may ask the Commission to provide a sign language interpreter or other assistance at the hearing.
