It will be cheaper for Idahoans to utilize the abundant solar power here than to continue to invest in coal
plants, which will need to be cleaned up for I I l(d) requirements and which foul our air, land and water.
Further, solar peaks when most needed in summer, when costs are highest. This coal is shipped from out of
state, increasing risk of environmental damage. Please afford solar QF PURPA providers a level playing
ground will polluting sources to minimize cost and risk to customers.

2 year contract terms for solar make it nearly impossible to find investors for utility scale projects. The
lifespan of solar panels is at least 30 years. 30 years of energy production with zero fuel costs and zero carbon
emissions. The contract length for solar projects should be more closely matched to the asset's lifespan than
the proposed 2 year term.

I think solar has got to be supported in order for it to be sustainable. Other countries (Germany for one) realize
this. We travel for 2 months every winter to Nevada, Arizona and So Calif. It is amazing how much solar
there is. It will be an important. Move for Idaho to move forward with solar. We would put panels on our
house like we have the camper if there was some financial incentives to help with the initial cost!

Idaho Power will need all of the renewable energy that is available to its system. Hydro Power although
considered a renewable resource by some is much more limited than solar and solar's cost per kwhr continues
to decline. Contracting for as much solar as available is Idaho Power's best option for a clean sustainable
