Re:Idaho Power --Energy Sales Agreement with Grand View PV Solar Two,LLC,IPC-E-14-19.
Dear Commissioners:
I recently learned about the Grand View solar project and I think it is positive step in the right direction
both environmentally and economically for the great state of Idaho. It is my understanding that this
project will produce enough power to the power used by 20,000 households. As a renewable resource,
solar power is a clean alternative to other energy sources. As the Community Development Director,I
was the project manager for public-private partnership solar project to install small scale solar arrays on
local businesses and at our public airport. The project has proven to be economically beneficial to all our
partners and further promotes our mission and image as a more sustainable place to live and recreate.
The Grand View project has a number of positive attribute including but not limited to the fact that solar
project will be located unused farmland, its construction will not create any adverse affects on the local
environment,it will create year around jobs, and it benefits Idaho Power by helping it meet recent EPA
requirements to reduce its overall carbon emissions. Therefore,I strongly support this project as the
Grand View solar project as a great financial opportunity for Elmore County as well as a good business
direction for Idaho.
Thank you,

Comment:As a former employee of Transform Solar (the Micron solar startup that discontinue
operations),I fully support the Grand View solar project because it helps Idaho both
environmentally and economically. It will produce 80MW of electricity—equivalent to the power
used by 20,000 households and enable Idaho Power to help meet its recent EPA requirements to
reduce its overall carbon emissions.
I view the Grand View 80MW solar project as a tremendous financial opportunity for Elmore
County,as well as a good business direction for Idaho. We need industry that can supply 300
local jobs for a year,as well as many permanent full-time positions for maintenance
specialists. This project will generate increased local revenue during the time of its
construction, and supply as much as $400,000 in yearly property taxes to Elmore County for
many years to come.
The Grand View 80MW solar project gets my full support—it benefits the environment, and it is
good for Idaho’s economy.
Thank you for your consideration,
John Barnes

Comment:Dear Commissioners,
I am submitted this comment in support of the Grand View PV Solar Energy Sales Agreement.
believe this sales represents a significant step for Idaho by helping to round out our energy
production needs.
This project will continue to support Idahos ability to produce low cost, sustainable energy
using resources that minimize impacts to the environment.
On top of the project being sustainable in an environmental sense,it is also sustainable by
bringing jobs to southwestern Idaho. The support required to design/construct/operate the
project will be significant and help the citizens of Idaho with much needed jobs.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions concerning my comments on this
project.
