HomeMy WebLinkAbout20170608order_no_33782.pdfOffice of the Secretary Service Date June 8,2017 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION ) OF IDAHO POWER COMPANY TO )CASE NO.IPC-E-14-15 APPROVE OR REJECT ENERGY SALES ) AGREEMENT WITH CLARK CANYON ) HYDRO,LLC,FOR THE SALE AND ) PURCHASE OF ELECTRIC ENERGY )ORDER NO.33782 FROM THE CLARK CANYON PROJECT ) In June 2014,Idaho Power filed an Application for the Commission to approve or reject its Energy Sales Agreement with Clark Canyon Hydro,LLC (Clark Canyon).The Agreement between Idaho Power and Clark Canyon is a contract for the sale and purchase of energy from the Clark Canyon Project under the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA).The Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of Modified Procedure setting deadlines for comments.Order No.33064.Shortly thereafter,the Commission granted the parties’joint request to suspend the procedural schedule,based on discrepancies between Clark Canyon’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)license and its Agreement with Idaho Power.Order No.33088. Clark Canyon and Idaho Power met with Staff on May 11,2017,to discuss the status of this matter before the Commission.Before the Commission is the joint Motion of Idaho Power Company,Commission Staff and Clark Canyon Hydro to lift the suspension previously issued in this case in Order No.33088,and issue a new procedural schedule.The Commission grants the Motion as follows. COMMISSION DECISION Having reviewed the agreed upon Motion and being familiar with the record,the Commission finds the requests reasonable and appropriate.Therefore the Commission grants the Motion,lifts the suspension,and adopts the requested deadlines as follows: Idaho Power and Clark Canyon Comments Due 21 days from the service date of this Order All party response Due 14 days from initial comments All party reply Due 14 days from response ORDER NO.33782 ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the procedural suspension entered in Order No. 33088 is lifted. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Idaho Power and Clark Canyon shall file comments about the status of this case no later than 21 days from the service date of this Order.The deadline for all parties to respond shall be 14 days from Idaho Power and Clark Canyon’s comment deadline.The deadline for all parties to reply to responsive comments shall be 14 days from the response deadline.6 DONE by Order of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission at Boise,Idaho this day of June 2017.
