Comment:Idaho Power needs to use its assets wisely. We live in a state with the most
minimum wage jobs.I know elderly individuals that cannot pay their power bill.We have
abundant opportunity for wind and some solar, yet Id.Power doesnt follow through to the
extent they could because it is “cheap”.They raise our bill when we conserve too much (I
have saved the letter stating that conservation was too good and they didnt make enough)yet
they encourage/aid conservation.I have lived in Idaho all my life and have compared rates
with friends in other parts of the county. Our base cost may be cheaper but we have so many
add-ons that is comes out higher. It is “tricky advertising on their part.I realize you
are political appointees who really do not have to answer to the consumer directly but we
need a voice as you are SUPPOSED to be.Their power rates are too high now.Period.
CONSERVATIVE thinking says live within your budget and Idaho Power should, too.Set an
example.NO rate increase.Perhaps lower the bonuses too executives,no new office
furniture for a year or two, making trucks work an extra year etc. These are things families
HAVE to do why not a public monopoly? We don’t get raises every time we want one,in fact
not at all for years.
