The decision is somewhat akin to buying a Model T Ford today despite the fact there are
modern cars available at far more reasonable prices.
Solar,wind,and other renewables are improving almost daily.So why look backward when we
should focus forward?

I am an Idaho Power customer,and I dont want to invest in dirty coal power.The amount
Idaho Power wants to invest--$130,000,000 should be spent on cleaner power.Spending it on
an old coal-fired plant is just putting good money after bad.It is also just the tip of the
iceberg.More money will be required to bring the plant up to date,to pay for the costs of
coal-fired pollution and the costs of climate change.Burning coal is a major factor in
climate change,as nearly all scientists in the world agree is fact.
Idaho power should be exploring ways to increase energy efficiency.It should be working
with customers who use solar energy to put some of that energy back into the grid.It should
work on locally sourced and used energy--a much cheaper and more efficient way to use energy.
Please turn down Idaho Power!

up in Idaho and got my B.A.from ISU.I am a frequent visitor to the state.
I am also a resident of the planet and I would like to live in a world that is not
2+degrees C.hotter.I wish to avoid more childhood asthma (from particulates)and the spread
of the neurotoxin,mercury,from smoke.
I also strongly oppose mountain top removal in Appalachia.
Whether or not you think climate change is real (it is),you cannot deny the other
negative outcomes of burning coal.Only the uneducated or the intentionally ignorant would
agree to keep this outdated plant open.

I am an Idaho Power customer,and I don’t want IDP to invest any more money in the Jim Bridge
coal plant.IDP would be throwing good money after bad.First,the plant is old to bring
it up to date will require $130 million!This is a ridiculous waste of money that could be
better spent.Second,the money would be spent on an energy producing technology that is
dirty and even with an updated plant will continue to be dirty for decades.We need to
invest in the future,in clean energy sources that will ensure the health of our area and the
planet for eons.Lastly,investing this money in a plant located outside of Idaho is not
good for Idaho.We need solid new clean energy jobs for Idahoans!Let’s not support Wyoming
jobs.Please,Commissioners,say no to the Jim Bridge plant investment.
