IP should not get the rate increase they ask for, especially since they don't pay sufficient
attention to overall efficiency of operations.
The Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) should be a much more accurate forecast. I would suggest an
increase or decrease of 3-5% per year. Anything above or below should be handled in a normal
rate case.
Very few corporations in the US still have defined benefit pension plans. Many companies in
the last several years have had to restructure or go bankrupt because of having such pension
plans. These are not sustainable and the ratepayers should not be paying for this type of
pension plan.
A hearing should be held for this very sudden and high rate increase.
IP is trying to get away with crushing the ratepayers. Any rate increase should be reasonable
and would be paid for if IP got more efficient! Please hold hearings if IP doesn't back down
on their rate increase.
