I am an electrician by trade, we have assisted various customers over the years to build
solar generation systems connected to net metered units. I think it would be patently
unfair, given the encouragement they have received over the years from the federal government
and others, to deny them reimbursement for energy they have generated through their own
investment, time, and efforts.
The long term benefit of pushing such technologies is the relief that Idaho Power receives to
their own infrastructure in terms of reduced loads and demand, and even though it creates a
little bit of pain in the short term, I believe cogeneration technologies will eventually
'catch up' and provide meaningful benefit to the utility as well as the consumer.

I am a net metering customer and feel that the new rate proposal by Idaho Power puts an
unfair burden on net metering customers. If this proposal would go into effect we would end
up producing power for which Idaho Power would not reimburse us. The $25 monthly fee would
cancel out the benefit from producing our own electricity. That means that we end up paying
Idaho Power to for the power that we produce! The proposal is unfair to net metering
customers.
