This would be a step back for Idaho. In addition, Idaho Powers greed show through in that it has not proposed a reduction in utility rates now that it is drawing much of its energy from the new low cost gas power plant. It is also hoping to benefit from the elimination of the private property tax, all without commensurate reduction in rates while hamstringing Idaho communities. Idaho Power - Bad for Idaho. Bad for sustainable energy solutions. Please, say NO to Idaho Power! This has been one of the few (VERY FEW) opportunities home owners and businesses have had to incorporate renewable energy technologies into our personal energy portfolios and reduce air and water pollution in our state by reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The public interest requires options such as net metering. Individual homeowners and businesses can invest in green building technology and reduce the long term costs of energy by obtaining energy from the sun when it is needed the most. The arguments offered by Idaho Power are unpersuasive. Idaho needs net metering. Please reject Idaho Power's proposal.
