I am opposed to Idaho Power's request to raise rates for people who invested or plan to
invest in solar energy. I also am opposed to their proposed increased service charge for
solar energy users.
Several years ago, I invested in solar panels at my home. It was an expensive investment, and
but I did it because I am interested in solar energy and reducing my power bills. I do not
produce enough power to earn a credit from Idaho Power, but I have been able to reduce my
power bill in the summer.
I do not feel that other customers subsidize my power bill. I pay a substantial power bill
each month. I also believe the service charge I pay should be equal to all other Idaho Power
users.
When people try to do good, to help the environment and help themselves (I paid for the
system out of my own pocket) they should not be penalized.
Idaho Corp. is not suffering and private home owners who choose to create some of their own
power are not hurting this company's bottom line.
Please deny this ridiculous request.
Thank you.
Robert L. Hill

Hi, All,
Would you encourage IPCo to do a short study' with me.
I would like IPC0's cost of spot market power they may have purchased during the heat of the
day for July, Aug, and Sept of 2012.
Fm one of IPC0's net metering solar customers. Although I will never get 'pay back' for the
24 panels on my roof, I'd like to know how much my panels saved IPC0 (my neighbors).
It has come to my attention that IPCo desires to zero out a kWhr credit balance I might have
at the end of each calendar year.
In essence, free power to my neighbors that will pay 7+ cents. Hmmm..
The panel generate during the heat of the day in the summer saving IPCo (thus my neighbors)
the cost of expensive spot market energy.
I'd like to at least know that my solar 'hobby' is saving someone something if not me.
Thanks for consideration,
Jim Thomas, Boise
