Please describe your comment briefly:
Commissioners, I understand that Idaho Power has application with IPUC to reduce incentives
for homeowners to install photovoltaic panels. In my opinion, this type of thinking belongs
in the last century. We must look forward to new and cleaner technologies, not stuck in the
past, burning tons of coal with the resultant pollutants.
Idaho Power could be leading the way by building solar farms and taking advantage of the
wonderful solar resource we are blessed with in Idaho, decreasing our dependence on fossil
fuels. Since it seems that Idaho Power has no interest in building a solar power plant, the
least the company could do would be to provide incentives for others to contribute solar
generated power to the grid and reduce our fossil fuel dependence.
For the record, I do not have solar panels and net metering, but I fully support those who
do.
