To Idaho Public Utilities Commission:
In reference to IPC-E- 12-27:
As rate payers in the State of Idaho we wish to strongly object to Idaho Power's proposal
to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission regarding their (IP's) net metering program.
Such a proposal is really a dirty trick. IP and its employees encouraged us to install our
solar system by telling us their need for solar power is greatest in the summer and would
be the most helpful for them and for the entire renewable energy program. Now IP is
asking us to give up our kw incentives AND power! Tricks such as this will certainly not
encourage the growth of energy independence for the State of Idaho. We are surprised
that IP, with their involvement in renewable power, would propose such a change.
Please, let us not forget that private building projects such as ours provide local jobs,
permit fees and revenue as well.
The rules for the net metering program are good as they stand. Therefore we ask the
IPUC to reject the IP proposal which changes how they (IP) charge us for our help in
providing energy to their grid for the benefit of the State of Idaho.
Sincerely,

Please describe your comment briefly:
RE IPC-E-12-27 'Suspension of A/C Cool Credit Program'
Please do not allow Idaho Power to stop this program. They are a summer peaking system and
they can and do reduce demand via this program when required. They have very few of such
programs available to residential customers and since they already have all the
equipment/software installed it costs them next to nothing to administer the program. If you
allow them to stop the program the equipment/system will age and fall apart prematurely and
the costs they have already sunk into the program infrastructure will be lost.
I cannot understand their justification for doing so and even if they do not need to reduce
summer load now they will in the future and then they will have to spend many extra dollars
to reconfigure program that already works. Idaho seems to lack in energy
conservation/avoidance programs and eliminating this one does not make sense.
Thank You
