I recently saw a news article about Idaho Power seeking a rate increase. I have to say I am
totally against this increase. In this economy is increasing power rates a positive step?
My daughter and her husband are on the verge of losing their home because he can't find work.
My husband has been out of work for 2 1/2 years with no source of income. He has put in
applications everywhere he can think of. We struggle each month on my part-time salary to
make the house payment and many weeks have to choose between gas for me to get to work and
food. My power bill, gas bill and even trash are all in arrears because there is just no
money there to pay them. Each month I'Rob Peter to pay Paul.' I know my family i not the
only family in the area with these types of situations and a hike in the power bill could
just put them under. Is that what we want in already tough times?
