Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
I'm writing to voice my support for continuing Idaho Power's ability to invest in energy
efficiency programs. We have a long way to go to achieve maximum energy efficiency in this
country and allowing Idaho Power to invest in energy efficiency programs not only contributes
to overall efficiency it also saves ratepayers money and takes better care of the
environment.
As you review Idaho Power's 2011 efficiency related expenses, please keep this in mind and
allow it to continue to provide and promote efficiency programs.

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
I appreciate the savings afforded Idaho homeowners by using energy efficiency and I am
happy to know we are reducing carbon pollution. Idaho businesses are happy to earn money
that would otherwise be spent on energy. Having this money stay in Idaho means jobs for
Idahoans. I appreciate the idea that no new power plants have needed to be built; I am
especially thankful for no new pollution from burning fossil fuels.

I support smart investments in energy efficiency, rather than new power plants.
Investing in energy efficiency is the cheapest, fastest and cleanest way to protect Idaho's
environment and our own pocketbooks for several reasons:
1)By using our energy resources wisely, we avoid expensive new power plants and transmission
lines while cutting pollution from burning fossil fuels. Helping Idaho's homes and buisnesses
save energy keeps our dollars here, thereby creating Idaho jobs, instead of going to coal
mines and gas fields in other places.
2)Spending $44 million on energy efficiency saved $119 million in energy costs and avoided
over 100 million pounds of carbon pollution. That's a good deal for Idaho's pocketbooks and
environment.
Please continue to place energy efficiency as a highest priority

I was recently made aware that the ID Power energy efficiency investment in 2011 of $44M has
created $119M in savings for over 100 million people!!
I am a very strong believer in being more energy efficient vs funding more power sources for
our ever-growning needs.
Please get the word out to the public with a press release or news article in the
Statesman ... or even a billboard or five ... of what savings have been created!! People need to
be aware of this statistic!!

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission; I am in support of investing in energy efficiency
instead of new power plants. It's pretty sad when a solar energy company goes out of business
when when we're all scrambling to find cheaper energy. There's a lot of sunshine in Boise
during the summer that's mostly wasted right now.

conservation measures. This is not only important for environmental protections but deeply
important in the education of future generations and their role in the ecological health that
