Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
By using our energy resources wisely, we avoid expensive new power plants and transmission
lines while cutting pollution from burning fossil fuels.
Helping Idaho's homes and buisnesses save energy keeps our dollars here, thereby creating
Idaho jobs, instead of going to coal mines and gas fields in other places.
Spending $44 million on energy efficiency saved $119 million in energy costs and avoided over
100 million pounds of carbon pollution. That's a good deal for Idaho's pocketbooks and
environment.

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
New power plants are not al
ways necessarry when efficiency and smart investments are prioritized.
But helping Idaho's homes and buisnesses save energy keeps our dollars here, thereby creating
Idaho jobs, instead of going to coal mines and gas fields in other places.
Spending $44 million on energy efficiency saved $119 million in energy costs and avoided over

Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
Investing in energy efficiency is the cheapest, fastest and cleanest way to protect Idaho's
environment and our own pocketbooks for several reasons:
By using our energy resources wisely, we avoid expensive new power plants and transmission
lines while cutting pollution from burning fossil fuels.
Helping Idaho's homes and buisnesses save energy keeps our dollars here, thereby creating
Idaho jobs, instead of going to coal mines and gas fields in other places.
Spending $44 million on energy efficiency saved $119 million in energy costs and avoided over
100 million pounds of carbon pollution. That's a good deal for Idaho's pocketbooks and
environment.
An investment is smart when the benefits outweigh the costs.
Please continue to invest in energy efficiency for Idaho.
Thank you,

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission:
Please continue to support Idaho Powers program of energy conservation. This program
benefits us all by keeping our electricity rates low, saving resources, and providing a
cleaner environment. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
I understand you will be reviewing Idaho Power's program to help people be more energy
efficient. I certainly hope you will continue to support energy saving changes. And I think
they can help us. As retired folks with minimal income, tax credits don't do anything for my
wife and I, but a credit at the power company will really help.
Thanks for your consideration.

Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
I want to express my support for the ongoing investment in energy efficiency programs over
building new power plants. Efficiency is the most cost effective, quickest, and cleanest way
to maximize energy use. The 44 million dollars spent in 2011 on efficiency programs by Idaho
Powe saved 119 million dollars for tax payers and prevented 100 million pounds of carbon
pollution. If I could make personal investments like that I'd be ecstatic. If we truly value
our resources then the most efficient use of them is the best way to demonstrate that value.
Thanks for considering my viewpoint.

Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
Idaho Power's 2011 investment in energy efficiency was a great start. I hope they will
continue this program and enlarge it. The $44 million spent on saving energy saved $119
million in energy costs and that meant more than 100 million pounds of carbon were kept out
of Idaho's environment. These kinds of investments make so much sense, especially in a time
when the economy and environment are in trouble. This is not a time to build more expensive
new power plants or to go elsewhere for our power.
Thank you for reading this.

Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
Investing in energy efficiency programs has resulted in a savings of $3 for every dollar
invested. I encourage the commission to continue their support of smart investments in energy
efficiency as we move into the future. My community of Halley, Idaho has encouraged
individuals to undertake energy savings through the Save-a Watt program and renewable energy
grants. I am currently upgrading my heating system to a hi-efficiency boiler (from 70%
efficient to 95% efficient) and installing solar thermal panels to further reduce my energy
use. This is financially feasible by using federal tax credits, and the local grants to
offset my out of pocket costs. The return on investment is 7.5 years with a $4.8 savings on
each dollar invested over the life of the system.
Thank you
Kurt Nelson
Sincerely,
Kurt Nelson

Re: Case No IPC-E-12-15
Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission;
I am opposed to public utilities like Idaho Power being forced to purchase green energy and
then passing that expense onto us. Being forced to use expensive/inefficient green energy
such as solar and wind is pure stupidity and the government needs to get out of this
business.
Idaho Power uses the PUC like an "advisory body" to propose increased costs to consumers. The
costs of energy efficiencies should be paid by Idaho Power stakeholders. We are told to be
more energy conscious and to conserve power wherever we can to reduce the burden on the power
grid and then we consumers get shafted for doing so?
