If IDACORP 'ended 2011 with a 16.7% increase in profit' Idaho Power must have been a major contirbutor to the increase in IDACORP's improved profit for 2011. And if that is so why is Idaho Power currently seeking a sizable increase in base rates? IDACORP J. Lamont Keen, Idacorp CEO, received a 21 percent increase in total compensation in 2011. The parent company of Idaho Power Co. ended 2011 with a 16.7 percent increase in profit to $23.9 million. It also got an advantageous tax ruling from the U.S. government and a rate increase to help meet its pension requirements. All those contributed to Keen meeting his incentive goals for compensation. Two thirds of. Keen's compensation was at-risk, meaning he had to meet goals or the at-risk amounts would not be paid. The goals deal with customer service, system reliability and prudent fiscal management.
