The voters of Idaho should not be penalized for being conservative. The main reason, we the people, for the people, by the people are being conservative is simply because we can NOT afford the cost of electricity NOW.It is not the consumers fault that Idaho Power did not build their own power plants along time ago. Idaho Power has a monopoly now on elect rici ty. There is no other place I can buy it. They do not use ANY Union Labor therefore forcing me to subsidize a workforce that does substandard work with no benefits or retirement. The only entity that stands between poor people on fixed incomes & unemployed people in a standstill economy is YOU THREE BOARD MEMBERS (TWO REPUBLICANS AND ONE DEMOCRAT) on the IPUC Board appointed by Governor Butch Otter. Please protect us Idaho VOTERS from the greedy Idaho Power Company. Thank You. The 'Utilities i saves electricity overall and especially at peak hour times 7AM to 1ØPM(peak hours), but indicates that it is losing money because the customer base is not paying as much as it was before they started to conserve energy so the PUC compensates the 'Utili ties i for their i loss' using the Fixed Cost Adj ustment Program(your tax dollars). WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? The customer base ends up paying the same amount of money for less power and the i utili ties' revenues increase after it collects the origional amount, ie. Fixed Cost Adjustment(your tax dollars) plus the power bill from the customer base. Since the Utilities' cannot just dump the excess power it gained from the conservation of its customers it is fairly safe to assume that it sells the excess power on the grid. Rocky Mountain Power a Utah based company, uses the same philosophy and the PUC recently granted them a big increase so it follows that we probably should subsidize Idaho Power too. It appears as if the PUC is once again not acting in the best interests of the public that it was commissioned to protect. It would be nice if the PUC started looking out for the public weI fare instead of the 'bottomline' of the i utilities i The form submitted on http://www.puc.idaho.gov/forms/ipuc1/ipuc.html IP address is 174.27.1Ø4.212 - --- - - --- - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - -- i
