With the economy the way it is, people unemployed and those on fixed incomes can barely pay their power bills as it is. With the new meters, the Energy Charge over 2eee kWh, Service Charge and the Energy Efficiency Services has increased the consumer cost substantially. I i ve had Idaho Power come to our home to see if there was any possible way of reducing our power usage. I felt we were very conservative in our usage and Idaho Power confirmed that. We and so many others on fixed incomes and those unemployed are being charged beyond reasonable and the added fees just enhances the problem. I challenge any of the persons creating their statistical spreadsheets to show way the need the rate increase - to take on the real challenge of managing on $1,5ee monthly income withi no i income increases to offset the added expenses. Idaho Power can makes some cuts even if it i s putting their clerical staff on part time or decrease the Executive salaries by half I Consumers need help from IPUC ! It has to be a burden at this time for everyone and more so for the elderly who are on a fixed income.
