I received the notice of the Fixed Cost Adjustment and Pension Funding adjustment proposed to
you by Idaho Power. I strongly oppose any increase in my rates to fund Idaho Power employee
pensions. Pensions should be converted to 401K type retirement programs
that lower cost and
require employee contributions, just like the rest of us have to do. Private companies hire
lots of i quality employees i without offering them pensions for life. It i s time untili ties
did the same, instead of bleeding the homeowners and small businesses to fund fat pensions
that their customers are not given by their employers. We are sick and tired of state,
federal and utility benefit programs that continue to cost us millions of dollars, at a time
when we all need to tighten our belts. I i m offended by this proposed increase. Shame on the
IPUC if you approve the rate hike. How about looking out for the consumer instead of
backfilling a bloated utility.
