We have benefited, and it seems as if Idaho Power has as well. However, the inconvenience of starting and stopping irrigation cannot be overstated. Even with a day i s notice, planning for and around shutdown events is difficult, and it is easy to get behind on irrigating when it i s hot and there are dispatch events every day. Thus far, the incentive has outweighed the cost. However, with the changes proposed by Idaho Power, that incentive will be reduced to the point that we likely won't participate in the program. If enough irrigators drop out, all ratepayers will lose out as more energy will need to be purchased or generated.
