Re: IPCO Irrigation Peak Rewards Program
Commissioners:
The purpose of this letter is to request that you take necessary measures to protect or increase the
benefits of the Peak Rewards program for Idaho farms and ranches.
Irrigation uses were in place long before many of the electric service demands we see today. As
. evidenced by this program, farmers and ranchers have been willng to do their share to reduce
demand-even though this occurs at the worst possible time of day for agriculture. The Peak Rewards
program is a terrific effort by both irrigators and Idaho Power. However, the proposed changes are
going the wrong direction. Because these interruptions significantly impact critical operations, we
believe you will start to see irrigators opt out of the program if benefits are reduced below their current
status.
As mentioned above, Peak Rewards is an excellent program. Please see to it that the benefits are not
reduced so agriculture can continue to work with the good folks at Idaho Power to operate effciently
and cost-effectively for all users.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
\J

RE: ipeo irrgation Pea Rewads progr chage
Dear Commssion:
My far with over 20 meters on the IPCO Pea Rewars Program, ha ben enrolled
since the Peak Rewards Program's inception severl yea ago. I have expended considerble
effort and modification of my electrcal systems to accomiodate their progr. It is fuctionig
better afr may modifications and the crts offered make the effort wortwhile. However,
with the proposed chages in the amount of credit offered I don't th the progr will be
wortwhile to paricipate in next year. Also the proposa by IP "to replace the progr with
existing thermal resources or purcha power" fuer erodes the value of the progr for
conservation purses.
Ths progr was devise by IP and intitute by them af carfu consideration;
therefore they should have to operate the progr. Thy must have spent hundreds of thousads
of dollar equipping system with devises and developing softar to ru the system and all ths
expense born by the rate payer and now it will be dimshed or lost altogether. I object to any
substatial changes like those being proposed.
