Regarding Comments of conservation surcharge,
I have been very disapppinted in how this information was
addressed. As I have looked into the programs that the Idaho
Power Co.llprovidell I feel Idaho Power only
reaps from the programs. l signed up for the AC program.
They gave me a AC cool credit of $7.00 for three months a
total of $ 21.00. But, I paid $ 28.32 for the program. It looks
like I paid for my part of the program in full plus some. That
doesn1t count for all those that didn't sign up, but are paying for
it anyway.
It loos to me that all of these programs (15) are just more
money makers for Idaho Power, to make it seem that weare
getting a good deal??
I hope. the PUC win see that these programs aren't saving the
customers money, it is costing t~em. l hope you wll see to

I do not believe that enough benefit is gained from the money collected. The program idea is
okay. However those that need it do not use it. Bottom line: Electric bills are high
enough without this fee.

The only conservation program I am aware of from Idaho Power is the $lÐ monthly rebate that
would allow Idaho Power to turn off my AC unit in the summer during high demand times. There
are a few problems with this i conservation i program. First, I am being bribed to
participate in the program with my own money (the conservation surcharge collected by Idaho
Power). Second, we already rarely use our AC. Third, since we rarely use our AC there is no
additional conservation from this plan. The surcharge is simple money the power company is
taking from me that keeps me from making other energy conservation improvements like a new
front door that doesn' t leak or additional insulation in the attic. I would rather have the
surcharge eliminated entirely so I can use the money for our house.
