As a customer of Idaho Power, I appreciate all of the cost savings I can get. If the Idaho
Statesman article is correct, and the savings from the demand-response programs reduced the
company' s total electrical load by 218 megawatts in 2009, I say that this program should be
continued. That 218 megawatts is nearly one-half the output of the Brownlee Generator #5,
which is the last large project I worked on while an active employee of Idaho Power, and I
know that it cost a very large amount of money. If these energy efficiency programs can
preclude the need for installing another generator like that, I feel that the company should
continue this program.
I do not know the reason for the Industrial Customers to intervene in this case, as I have
been out of the loop for quite some time due to retirement and health problems, but I feel
that their case should be examined closely.

I believe its time the PUC was on the sideof the Public instead of Idaho Power. It is
getting to the point that a average person has to cut out other necsi ties in order to keep up
the raises in IP constant rate hikes.

I request the Idaho Public Utilities Commission be extremely critical of Idaho Power' s
surcharge on customer bills. The 4.72 percent rider is too high for senior citizens who are
on a fixed income. Please cut back on these energy-efficiency programs and charge only those
customers who currently use some of these programs. Thank you for your consideration.
