I am very pleased with Idaho Power Company and the service they provide and there interest
in my community. In my bill there was an insert talking about 3 requests before the IPUC. Is
it typical for rate payers to fund things like pensions? Knowone is funding my future so this
seems out of line to me.

I didn i t get a pension fund that was paid for by customers? I didn't hear of any? In fact
I have heard about most companies (big and
small) cutting out all investment into their pension funds because of the economy. IP wants
US to pay for their employee pension funds DIRECTLY!! The IPUC does allow for · reasonably
and prudently incurred cash contributions for pension expenses i but that is if the public
approves. Well, I for one don 't. Especially not in these hard times. I think that the cut
back in all these expenses/investment need to be fair and apply to everybody affected by this
economy. Please say NO to this i Pension Fund Contribution' by me.

I am writing with regard to proposed rate increases by Idaho Power. I want to express my
opposition to such increases, which will be used to fund pensions for IPC employees and to
offset reduced usage due to the focus on energy savings. I feel that IPC, like any other
business, should be subject to the ebbs and flows of business and should not be able to
simply increase rates (dramatically in this case) to resolve business challenges they may
face. It's one thing to have a small increase due to cost of living but to make major
increases (179 to 2ØØ%) is outrageous and I adamantly oppose such increases.

I do not approve of any of the rate increases for the following:
There names are as follows:
1. Fixed Cost Adj ustment (FCA)
2. Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) 3. Pension Funding Especially #3 in these hard
times for all families. It 's just wrong.
The other 2 are the cost of IP doing business, and should be absorbed by investors, not an
open credit card for bad business. They have only hurt rates in other states, let i s not do
it in Idaho.

The rate increases being requested are absolutely NOT appropriate at this time of financial
stress. Why can't they reduce costs or profits on themselves like the rest of us are having
to do, rather than just passing them on to us because they think they can?
