I do not understand the article published in the Magic Valley Times News that stated Idaho
Power was seeking a rate increase that in the end would mean a reduction in rates. My home
cannot get any more energy efficient and yet, the more I save on energy the higher the rates
go. I feel that as everyone saves company profit margins go down resulting in higher rates
to maintain investor portfolios. Investors must be the only ones happy about rate increases.

I am commenting on the new rate increase that Idaho Power Company is purposing I think
enough is enough the last increase on my bill jumped $50.00 from last year to this for the
same month it was $76.00 last year and jumped to $125.00 for the same month this year. I have
a water to air heat pump thats why it was so low I spent alot of money to get that kind of
power bill, I can imagine what other people are paying with a regular furnace or some other
kind of electric heat I don i t care what the increase is for it' s getting out of hand. You
need to deni this increase we're in tough times now is not the time to keep raising rates.

AGAIN, WHY DO WE AS CUSTOMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR COSTS? IE: FUNDING THEIR PENSION
PLANS. . . WE WERE SO RELIEVED TO GET THISD DECREASE OF 5.6% AND THEY TURN AROUND AND ASK FOR
3 EXTRA RATE INCREASES TO COVER NORMAL BUSINESS UPGRADES THAT PRIVATE COMPANIES HAVE TO STAND
THEMSELVES. THE OUTCOME IS JUST ANOTHER RATE INCREASE.
