Believe we already have what they call an automated meter. This meter is read from a remote
location and was installed a couple of years ago.

I have a couple of problems with the proposed Idaho Power rates. I am against the utility
getting a rate increase for energy efficiency. We try and conserve energy doing all we can
to cut our bill and then we get charged on our bill for energy efficiency programs and then
because we reduce the use we get charged more per kw so they can recieve more money. That is
just a circle with us geting it from both sides.
Now I am against smart meetering so someone can turn off my meter when they want to. I also
think that a service charge for meter reading should be eliminated when the smart meters are
installed. No one comes around to read the meter anymore so the fee should be eliminated.
Now as to the Pension funding. No one pays my pension fund I have to do that by myself.
That should come out of their paychecks just like mine does and being self employed I only
get retirement funds after all the other bills are paid and there is some left over. We each
need to be responsible for our own welfare.
Our power bill seems to be going up all of the time with no end in sight I think it is time
to put a halt on this. Thank You.

My understanding of the IPC new meter installation was to cut costs and increase efficiency
and by doing so, decrease the company i s meter expense. The cost savings should pay for the
costs of the new meters and not be borne by the rate-payers. This is simply another way of
IPC getting a rate increase regardless of the verbage.
