Dear Commission,
I work for H & H Utility Contractors Inc. in Meridian Idaho. We strongly believe in the
introduction of wind powered electricity and have seen firsthand how it can positively affect
out local economy. As, a contractor for Idaho Power we have developed the knowledge and
training required to install the collection systems for these wind farms. The economy
conditions have made it very hard for us to retain our skilled workforce. During this time,
wind farm construction has been approx 75% of our business and has helped us survive this
economy.
Wind power does have its hurdles with a very complicated way of buying and selling
electricity and forecasting. This is an opportunity for Idaho to take advantage of learning
these hurdles and tackling them to lead other states in this areana.
We feel that at the end of the day this new technology will benefit the rate payer and the
tax payer.
