Box 83720 Boise, Idaho 83720-0074 Dear Commissioners: May I register a complaint about all the rate increases you keeping giving to Idaho Power Company? Is there no end to what you will do for them? I live in Oregon but when you give them ":fe rein" in Idao it ver shortly spils over and catches up with Idaho Power customers in Oregon. I have wrttn the Oregon PUC several times in the pas but they just tu a dea ear. I hope YOU will listen as it all sta there in Idao. My electrcity bil for home use went up 20. i 586% in the calendar year Janua 2008 to Janua 2009. With compounding our rates will double in about four years! I can show you my bils and all the facts and figues if you would like to see them. Why do they tu right around and ask for more? And why do you basically just give it to them? They always apply for way more than they expect to get in case you cut their request back a litte bit. They then end up with what they really hoped for in the first place. According to the paper you just recently approved another 13.2% raise (I believe it was) for them alreay ths year and we are barely though May. Idao Power pushes for another rate increas about every 3 to 5 months, If the trth were known I would bet they have the next five or six rate increase proposals all lined up in a queue ready to submit to you durng the next two or thee year. As I see it they are drven mostly (but not quite entirely) by greed. Period! Their stockholders are par of the cause. They are not willing to sufer a bit in the down economy like the rest of us have to. We AR in a "down economy" and people ar huring, especially us Senior Citizens with nothg much to live on except Social Securty. I wrote a letter to Idao Power dirtly about ths concern and I DID give THEM all the facts and figus, including copies of my bils to back up what I was telling them and they DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME TH COURTESY OF A RESPONSE! Tht is how much they care. It is up to YOU to protect the public and do what is FAI to both the utility companes AN the public. But fairness does NOT mean givig them everyg they want or even MOST everyg they want. Limit them to 5 or 6 percent a year and let them live with it. They CAN. ~e.4~ Glen E.
