With the financial crisis affecting several businesses and house families this is a very
sensitive time to raise rates again. The local dairy industry in the dumps makes the farm
industry with difficult times as well. Standlee Hay and other businesses has made difficult
decision saving costs to stay in business and it seems that Idaho Power should have to do the
same. I have attached power bill history of our companies. Our company has made drastic
changes decreasing prices to our customers and it is di fficul t to see Idaho Power being able
to charge guaranteed margins with little accountability. I find it amazing to hear you and
Idaho Power say Idaho is still one of the less cost for power in the US. I am asking the PUC
Members to turn down this request until the financial crisis is more in order of all
companies and family homes.
I have spent over 3 million dollars with Idaho Power in the last three years. Please help.

In concern of Idaho Power rate increase request please refer to the matter of the
commisions inquiry about Energy affordabilty Issues and workshops dater Jan. 16, 2009.
Even out State Legislature didn i t want to raise taxes of the residents or the busines i s
due to the state of the Economy. Please do not grant any increase. Ask Idaho Power to
opperate more efficently. I drive to Oregon every week, the Snake River has been running at
near record levels but the water level at Farewell Bend has not raised. Why isn i t Idaho
Power storing water in the Hells Canyon Dams for Summer hydro generation? I quess they know
that the commision will ive them whatever they want no matter what the cost. The waters
levels were high last year too. Natural Gas prices lowered last year. The cost of
generating electricity should be lower.
I know that the power demands keep increasing mostly out of State. I would llike to
see the Power rates reduced here and if needed increase to the out of Stte new connections.
