I just read in the newspaper that Idaho Power has requested another power increase. This is
on the tail of a previous rate increase. Are they going to increase our utilities like the
oil companys are raising the price of gas even when the barrel price of oil is not going up.
Idaho power complains they need the money to pay for meters and other equipment. It appears
to me that this company needs to budget their monies compared to just spending and charging
the communities they serve. Let us remember that the customer is right and I believe the
customer is not being served with this rate hike.

I know for a fact Idaho Power gave bonuses and raises this year but are now seeking a rate
increase. That is not right with the economy in the condition it is. If they have the funds
to issue bonuses they do not need any more of my money when I am struggling to make the house
payment due to pay cuts.

another?
How can this company charge it' s customers three times for the KWh used in one month???

Idaho Power needs to realize that we are in a recession. We can' t just come up with another
4% or 10% or 11%. Most of us feel lucky to have a job. We are not expecting a raise in our
pay anytime soon.

I understand this filing and others related to it would raise residential rates an average
of 11.4%. THAT'S ELEVEN POINT FOUR PERCENT. The company evidently states that it · made a
mistake' and undercharged previously, and now, with this recession, wants to ride the backs
of the public.
I'm generally supportive of increases, but this is outrageous. The company should have to
eat most of this, and I don' t think it will hurt them at all..... they've lived like GM for a
long, long time. J L

Idaho Power rates are getting out of control. The thing that people dont understand is that
the rate increase for most homes is only around $8.00 month which is fair. But the rate
increase for farmers will raise my pumping bill est. $70,000. As a future Farmer I demand
that you put and end to the rate hikes. If you dont there is NO future for Farms here in
Idaho, which is sad.
The other thing that I just dont understand is why do they raise rates on pumpers? We
constantly use the same amount of power every year almost. The reason seems to me is there
are more people moving here so why not raise the rates on what is causing Idaho power to have
to buy power which is Residental? Or are you afraid of a real outburst?
I plead with you. Put an END to these monthly/yearly rate hikes, your destroying the future
of Idaho.

I see Idaho power is trying to gouge us again for more money. They say they have to because
of the water this, which is a bunch of baloney and they know it. We have above normal water
this year so they can use ther Hydroelectric dams and also the price of Natural gas has
plummeted to an all time low, if anything Idaho Power should get a rate decrease. I wanted to
also know why are the rate payers not getting rent from Idaho power on all the equipment we
have had to pay for for there use to charge us more money. If we have to pay for equipment
they purchase then I consider this to belong to the rate payers not Idaho power and we should
be compensated for there use. I don' t understand why we have to pay for equipment they
purchase anyway , if you went to a garage and they said before they could fix you i re car you
would have to by a tester for them to use and keep but you would have to pay for it, you
would tell them to stuff it and leave. The same should, apply to Idaho power. So I want to
know what is going on here Idaho power has had several rate increases in the last year and
that is enough it is time to stop the price gouging.

If you agree to the 11.4% increase request by Idaho Power you are as guilty of committing the
same sin as the Executives that allowed several million in bonus's to the AGI employess after
they received federal bailout money. If you believe we are in a low water year please check
with the local water masters because it simply is not true. What a hoax. If you allow thisthen shame on you too! .
Please do not allow this increase to happen.
I sent the following letter to Idaho Power:
Shame on you! I read in the local paper about your requested increase. You are no
different than GM or AGI. I loved the comment that yo~ say we are in a decreased water flow
year. Shame on you! That is simply not true. You know it, I know it and so do all the water
masters in the state. My utility bills at my business's and my home increased about 30-40%
last year. Not your simple little amount you say you got. Of course they are all hidden
wi thin your 'new billing' statements.
Have you no shame. A good friend of mine works for your company and complains constantly
about how the workers he supervises are lazy and wasteful of your companies time and
resources. I know as a builder developer the service I got 20 years ago was by far much more
respectful, efficient and productive than what I have received lately - especially in the
last 5 years.
Perhaps you too think that you can continue business as usual - much the same as AGI and GM
and a myriad of other wasteful big companies. I think! the Public Utilities commission should
deny your increase and you should be forced to actually have to look internally like every
other business has to do in these di fficul t times
