Idaho Power Company should be denied their request to build a gas fired power plant near New
Plymouth - no.
Idaho Power needs to get their head out of the sand and stop looking backward. Wind and
solar are the power sources of the future!

I feel Idaho power has recieved enough rate increases for the next two years, they just
recieved a 13.5 percent rate increase and here they are wanting another one. I thought the
PUC was there to keep this sort of price gouging from happening but apparently I was wrong.
It seems like every time Idaho power wants a rate increase they get it. I don't know if Butch
Otter has anything to do with this but I' am sure he has a hand in it. If you would
investigste you would find more people are leaving Idaho than coming in. I think Idaho power
wants to get all they can from the rate payer so they can iumprove there profits and donate
to certain campaign funds. Natrual gas is at an all time low so why are we paying more and
when oil was low they didn 't give us a price break. Idaho power is a monopoly and the know it
and they will get what they want at the rate payers expense. I would like to know why we are
not recieving arate decrease for all the equipment the ratepayer has paid for and they are
using to make a profit from. WE do not need a gas plant in New Plymouth or anywhere else. We
need to build nuclear plants instead as it is cleaner and a lot cheaper than idaho power.
