I'm in favor of Idaho Power building the gas-fired power plant south of New Plymouth. We are
in the need of more power and from different types of plants. I do have one major concern of
Idaho Power building this plant which is when the peaker plants built in Mountain Home were
built with out of state contractors and out of state people and if we are going to have to
pay Idaho Power for the bill for building this plant, I believe that we should get to build
it with Idaho Contractors and Idaho Workers. We have more than enough qualified workers that
don i t have jobs at this time in the state to complete this project. Our construction
contractors need work to bid on so they can put their people to work. I don i t know if the PUC
can help with this but I would like to see them try to have Idaho Power employ Idahoans for
the construction jobs. We are all supportive of "Buy Idaho" so why don't we "Build Idaho".
