Temporary Change in Billng Practice under Special Contract with Hoku
Materials, Inc.
Dear Ms. Jewell:
Idaho Power Company (ii Idaho Powet') has entered into a special Contract to supply
electric power to Hoku Materials, Inc. ("Hoku"). The Commission approved the special
contract on July 24, 2009, in Order No. 30869. The purpose of this letter is to advise the
Commission that Idaho Power has entered into a letter agreement in which it has agreed to
temporarily waive the minimum biled energy charge in the Hoku special contract. A copy
of the letter agreement addressing this biling change is enclosed for informational
purposes. The reasons why Idaho Power and Hoku have agreed to the biling change are
set out in the letter agreement.
Idaho Power is not seeking approval of the Hoku letter agreement because the letter
agreement is essentially a billng matter which does not require action by the Commission.
If the Commission has questions regarding the enclosed letter agreement, the Company
would request they be directed to Mr. Ric Gale.
