Three of these ini tiati ve are of concern to me. One of these is the AdVanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) proposal, designed in part to reduce operating costs associated with meter reading and generate new revenue. The initiative proposes an increase of 1.37% of monthly charges in order to produce an estimatd $il.2M in additional revenue. It seems that a business case would justify implementing such a program based cost savings and revenue generation without having to ask for a rate increase. Why does the consumer need to pay for a measures that will reduce operating costs and generate new revenue? Raising rates during this troubled economic period shows no moral conscience. Property values h~ve plumeted but property taxes have not decreased; jobs are lost; and Idaho Power wants to I charge consumers for implementing plans that reduce their operating expenses and increase revenue. Given these claims, there should be a decrease in rates, NOT an increase. Please do not permit a rate increase of any kind. i The form submitted on http://wlw . puc. idaho. gov Iforms/ipuc1/ipuc. html IP address is 71.209.39.28 i --- - - - --- --- - - - - - --- - --- - - - - - -1- __ __ 1
