It appears that Idaho Power has the Idaho Public Utili ties Commission right in their pocket.
Must be a pretty cozy relationship. How could a commission that exists for the interests and
good of the people of Idaho allow and approve the kind of increase in rates and miscellaneous
charges that we have experienced over the last several months since the summer. I am a person
who has just retired on Social Security that the Federal government says will not see a COLA
increase either this year or next. They tell' us it i S because the cost of living hasn i t gone
up. You are proof of the folly of this assessment. Our monthly electric bill went from and
avg of $80/mo to now $155-190/month.
Obviously, your commission exists for the good of Idaho Power and not for the good of the
people of this state. Who do you think you are fooling? You will never convince me that the
cost of producing electricity took this kind of a jump in this short amount of time. Try
doing something for us, the people of Idaho. Don i t forget who pays your salaries. If this
seems harsh to you, Idaho Power is just as harsh and rigid and they expect payment for these
ridiculous rates without blinking an eye. Thanks for listening.
