Please describe your comment briefly:
I'm paying 49.4% more per KW-hr in my last bill than I did 2 years ago. Idaho Power, who
used to encourage and advertise for electrical home heating, is now punishing those who have
electrical home heating with a three-tier billing structure.
Idaho Power is also punishing those with electrical home heating by added an fee for some
'Energy Efficiency' program. Apparently, they fund their rebates and credits to people that
might reduce their AIC usage in the summer or buy a new energy efficient appliance with money
they receive from this 'program'. This cost me over $39.99 last month because I heat my home
with electricity. There is no way for me to benefit from this program. I don't have AIC,
and I already have energy efficient appliances.
I don't have natural gas available to me. I suppose I can install propane heating.
The issue here is that Idaho Power has a monopoly on electric supply, they have run out of
power and have to buy it, they are going to punish their high usaged customers by making them
carry the cost of their shortage.
If the Idaho Power has run short in their power production because of poor planning and
over selling, they shouldn't punish their best customers. If they need more money, at least
they should spread it to all their customers.
