I am commenting on the request to increase electric rates. It is my observation that to
allow 300 kilowatts a month is not even 10 kilowatts for 24 hours. This allotment does not
even allow you to have you heat (electric) on for 15 minutes a day if you used 1 kWh a
minute. Please reconsider the monthly allotment. Further for Idaho not to have winter rates
equal to summer rates is stupidity. We have had snow and freezing weather which equals the
hot summer days. Please get it straightened out. Going from $.008 per kWh to $.06 per kWh
is robbery by Idaho Power. My current bill looks like this: PCA $16.37 and Non-Summer
Energy Charge $120.30. I used the same amount of kWh last year as this year. I have been
turning the breakers off when I am not using certain items, unplugging electrical appliances
and I live in a 2007 (never lived in and all new appliances, heater, etc.) manufactured home.
There is not a lot I can do to further i insulate i my home. Further, requiring people to beg
and borrow at churches, and other 2-1-1 sites is treating the low income, veterans, disabled
as discarded animal carcases. Please, Please, Please do not increase the rates (Non-Summer)
but instead reset the useable kWh for homes. Thank you.
