HomeMy WebLinkAbout20080820order_no_30627.pdfOffice of the Secretary Service Date August 20, 2008 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF IDAHO POWER COMPANY FOR AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES AND CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE TO ITS CUSTOMERS IN THE ST ATE OF IDAHO ORDER NO. 30627 CASE NO. IPC-08- On August 7, 2008, Stephen Telford, local counsel, filed a Motion with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission for limited admission of Arthur Perry Bruder in the above-captioned proceeding, and to excuse Mr. Telford from attendance at all proceedings before it in the above- captioned matter. Reference Idaho Bar Commission Rule 222; IPUC Rule of Procedure 19. Mr. Bruder certifies that he is an active member in good standing of the New York State Bar and that he maintains the regular practice of law as an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the United States Department of Energy at 1000 Independence Avenue SW Washington, D.C. Mr. Bruder further certifies that he is not a resident of the State of Idaho, that he is not licensed to practice in Idaho, and that he has not previously sought admission under mCR 222 or Rule 19 of the Commission Rules of Procedure. Both Mr. Telford and Mr. Bruder certify that the Motion has been electronically served on all parties to this proceeding, that a copy of the Motion has been provided to the Idaho State Bar, and that DOE's Idaho Operations Office is arranging to transmit, and shall within the next two weeks transmit, the necessary $200 fee to the Idaho State Bar. The Commission has reviewed the Motion of the United States Department of Energy for Limited Admission and to Excuse Local Counsel in the above-captioned proceeding, and the related practice rules and Rules of Procedure, i., mCR 222 (Limited Admission - Pro Hac Vice) and Commission Rule of Procedure 19 , IDAPA 31.01.01.019. Based on the filings of record and certified representations of Mr. Telford and Mr. Bruder, we find that reasonable grounds have been demonstrated to justify the granting of limited admission to Mr. Bruder as legal counsel for the United States Department of Energy in the above-captioned proceeding. We further find it reasonable to excuse Mr. Telford from attendance at the proceedings before the Commission in this matter. ORDER NO. 30627 ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Arthur Perry Bruder is granted limited admission in Case No. IPC-08-10 as legal counsel for the United States Department of Energy, and that Stephen Telford is excused from attendance at the proceedings before the Commission in this matter.
