11m pleased to see an increased interest in geothermal power in Idaho. A higher r~te for
renewable energy sources should be expected by consumers and. their response should be
increased conservation and an interest in energy-saving practices on their own.part. I
urge you to approve the request from Idaho Power to use the power cost adjustment to buygeothermal.
On another matter: since our legislature didn't address any state-wide power plant siting
issues, is there anything the PUC can do to regulate where new power plants are sited
(especially the merchant plants --- Idaho quality of life paying for California hot tubs)?
We thought the public was short-changed here in Jerome County when Sempra only had to
approach three county commissioners for approval. Now merchant nuclear companies aretaking advantage of the same lax regulations in the Treasure Valley. How can this be?!

I support Idaho Power i s desire to buy electricity generated by the U. S. Geothermal plant
near Malta. The more geothermal, the better off Idaho will be.
