I am wrting regadig the propose increas requested by Idao Power. Accrdi to
the arcle in the Idao Statesma on Janua 24,2008, Idao Power has settled with its
larger customers who said the propsed rae increass were too high. It also state tht
the settement reached by Idao Power and those compaes and th st ofIdaho Public
Utilties Commssion would increa residential cusomers bils even more th Idaho
Power had proposed.
It seems that this settement is pr well cut and dred and th the new rate would be
permanent, not adjustble based on water available to generate electrcity and the cost of
buying electrcity. Therefore the up-omig public hear to be held are just a
formality and that since Idao Public Utilities Commission staha already approved
ths deal that they will hold the heags then go ahead and give Idao Power what it
wants including the chage to peanent instead of adjustable and want it now as it looks
like we will have plenty of water due to curnt snow packs which would mean not
having to adjust rates down.
I am in my eighties and my Soial Securty cost of living incree doesn't go too far by
the time they deduct for Medicare insure premium increases.
As I mentioned above, ths deal ha ben ma and no mattr what the heags produce,
it will all be just to satisfy tht they were held. Being of my age and other conces I will
be unble to attend the Boise heang and ths is my way of expressing my thoughts, but I
doubt any of the commission members will even see ths leter and it is just and effort of
futility.
